Family Fight Turns Deadly In San Jose
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- One man is dead and his relative is behind bars following a family dispute in West San Jose Friday evening, a San Jose Police Officer said Saturday.
At around 5:15 p.m., police responded to a report of a fight in the courtyard of an apartment building in the 2900 block of Huff Drive.
When they arrived, they found Daniel Torres, 50, of San Jose suffering from injuries sustained in a physical fight, according to San Jose Police Public Information Officer Albert Morales.
Torres was taken to the hospital and died a few hours later, according to Morales.
Police believe an argument between Torres and his relative, Thomas Thompson, 40, of San Jose turned physical, allegedly resulting in the fatal injuries to Torres.
Thompson was booked into Santa Clara County jail on suspicion of murder.
This is San Jose's 23rd reported homicide this year.
