Exploding Can At Alameda Beach Barbecue Sends 2 To Hospital
ALAMEDA (CBS SF) -- Two women suffered life-threatening injuries Sunday afternoon at Robert Crown Memorial State Beach in Alameda when an aerosol can placed near a hot barbecue exploded, fire officials said.
The explosion was reported at 1:38 p.m. on the 600 block of Westline Drive, according to Alameda Fire Capt. James Colburn.
The women were taken by helicopter to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center for treatment.
No other injuries were reported.
