Ex-Warriors Coach Mark Jackson Reportedly Being Interviewed By Knicks
NEW YORK (CBS SF) - Just days after the New York Knicks were spurned by new Warriors coach Steve Kerr, the team appears to be courting Kerr's predecessor.
The New York Post reports that new team president and coaching great Phil Jackson reportedly has Mark Jackson on his short list for the New York head coaching job. Mark Jackson was let go last week after the first 50 win season in decades for the Warriors over conflict with management.
The 49-year-old Jackson, who had been head coach of the Warriors since 2011, led the team to the playoffs in each of the last two seasons. The Warriors were defeated last week in the Western Conference semifinals by the Los Angeles Clippers three games to two.
Kerr, who is known to be an advocate of Phil Jackson's triangle offense, was expected to join the Knicks until the Warriors swooped in with an offer that drew him to Golden State.
