Ex-San Ramon Officer Accused Of Domestic Violence
DISCOVERY BAY (CBS SF) -- A former San Ramon police officer who was allegedly wrapped up in a Contra Costa County police scandal was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of domestic violence, sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee said.
Deputies received a call reporting a domestic disturbance in the 700 block of Willow Lake Road in Discovery Bay around 7:40 p.m.
After investigating the case, deputies arrested Louis Lombardi, 39, on suspicion of making terrorist threats, a felony, and misdemeanor spousal abuse, Lee said.
He is being held at the Martinez Detention Facility on $1 million bail.
Lombardi had been charged in Contra Costa County along with former Contra Costa County Narcotic Enforcement Team Cmdr. Norman Wielsch, former private investigator Christopher Butler, and former Danville police Officer Stephen Tanabe.
The district attorney's office later put the case on hold and turned the investigation over to the FBI.
Wielsch and Butler have since been charged in a 17-count federal grand jury indictment alleging the pair engaged in police corruption, extortion, armed robbery and drug sales.
Lombardi and Tanabe have not yet been charged in federal court.
