Ex-Boyfriend Arrested For Shooting, Killing Pittsburg Woman
PITTSBURG (CBS SF) -- A woman was shot to death in Pittsburg late Wednesday night, apparently by her ex-boyfriend, a police lieutenant said Thursday.
Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Army Street around 11 p.m. after receiving reports of shots fired in the area, Lt. Ron Raman said.
Arriving officers searched a home and located a 52-year-old woman who had been shot multiple times, Raman said.
The officers attempted life-saving measures but the woman died, police said.
Raman said investigators located the suspect, 51-year-old Kevin Easter, of Pittsburg, who had an on-and-off romantic relationship with the victim.
"Due to recent arguments, they had separated," he said.
Easter was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to county jail.
Raman said Easter has an extensive criminal history and that he had recently been on parole for an assault with a deadly weapon conviction.
The victim's name has not yet been released.
