School District In San Jose Deals With 4th Sex Misconduct Case Of 2016
SAN JOSE (KCBS) – For the 4th time this year, an employee in a San Jose school district has been accused of sexual misconduct with a student.
The most recent arrest involving an East Side Union High School District employee came this week. Trudy Hill, a 32-year-old English teacher at Santa Teresa High School, was booked on charges of sending explicit photos to a male student and having oral sex with him.
"In public education, we have a lot of trust that's established, just because we're the system of education," Superintendent Chris Funk told KCBS. "And when an adult violates that trust because they're in a position of power and authority, it puts a black eye on the entire organization."
Hill has actually been on medical leave for most of the school year, but Funk said she continued to communicate with the 17-year-old student.
So far only one student has been identified, but police have not ruled out the possibility that there are others.
