East Palo Alto Man Tries To Open Pot Delivery Service
REDWOOD CITY (KCBS/AP) - A peninsula man was set to appear in front of the San Mateo County License Board Monday morning, seeking approval for a medical marijuana delivery service in San Mateo County.

The budding entrepreneur acknowledged that the odds were against him.
"I know that it's going to be an uphill battle," said James Sanabria.
In fact, the sheriff's office already recommended that his application be denied.
In a report opposing the delivery service, sheriff's Sgt. Bryan Cassandro revealed that Sanabria had previous felony convictions, including possession of PCP for sale and possession of cocaine, as well as a 1993 robbery conviction.
"I'm an ex-felon. So I kind of know that that's going to be a problem," Sanabria acknowledged.
Sanabria suggested that somebody else could run the delivery service, if that allowed for the company to launch.
"What I'm trying to do is open up a safe alternative to the traditional medicinal marijuana clubs."
MedWeedZoom would let cannabis customers register and order online. The pot would be delivered to their home, eliminating the concerns about crime that kept clubs from opening in San Mateo County.
"A web-only, non-cash, medicinal marijuana dispensary," described Sanabria. "It incorporates values that make it a lot safer for law enforcement, also for the patients. And it, of course, reduces crime."
"Actually I'm not even a medicinal marijuana user. This is simply a business idea for me after watching the news and seeing that there was no medicinal marijuana clubs in San Mateo County."
At this point, it was nothing more than a business idea.
"We don't have a location. I'm not operating, I don't have any money," summed up Sanabria.
