Earthquakes Sign Goalkeeper Andrew Weber
SAN JOSE (CBS) -– The San Jose Earthquakes announced Monday that the team signed goalkeeper Andrew Weber to a multi-year contract. Per league and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Weber returns to the club where he played in 2009 and half of 2010. He first signed with San Jose in February of 2009 and made two appearances with the Earthquakes, winning on his debut against D.C. United on September 27, 2009 by a score of 2-1. He later played the full 90 minutes of a 2-2 draw against Chivas USA, making eight saves. He also earned a start in a U.S. Open Cup play-in game against the New York Red Bulls.
The net-minder was also on the roster at the beginning of the 2010 season, but did not feature in any matches and was eventually released on June 30, 2010.
