Pair Of Small Earthquakes Strike East Of San Jose
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) – Two small earthquakes in less than two hours struck the hills east of San Jose on Thursday.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the first earthquake struck at 10:32 a.m., at a depth of less than one mile. A second earthquake, a magnitude 2.6, struck near the same area at 12:31 p.m.
KPIX 5 reporter Len Ramirez was among those who felt the first quake, saying the shaking lasted a few seconds.
People on social media throughout San Jose, and into the East Bay, said they felt shaking.
Visitors to the USGS website from as far south as Morgan Hill and as far east as Livermore reported feeling the the first quake. The second quake was mainly felt in East San Jose and Milpitas.
There are no immediate reports of any damage or injuries.
