Durant Adjusting To Life In The Bay Area
OAKLAND (CBS SF) – Like any new resident, Warriors superstar Kevin Durant is adjusting to the sights, sounds and tastes of the Bay Area.
How do you do that?
First you join the mosh pit at Kanye West's concert in Oakland.
You take a stroll and take in the view of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Then you hop on BART for a ride.
And hang out with the crowd in San Francisco's Marina District.
Finally, you turn to Reddit. Nearly 2,000 Reddit users made recommendations to a KD post for what he needs to experience here in the Bay Area including dozens who said he should try out Boba – a tea with milk that's gaining popularity in the Bay Area.
Gogorath suggested Durant take in the natural wonders – Half Moon Bay, Stinson Beach, Tamales (Tomales) Bay for oysters and Point Reyes for a hike.
Ravice41 told the new Warriors star that if he did visit Half Moon Bay, he's gladly give Durant a surf lesson or two.
HolyTryst told Durant he needed to check out the Chop Bar or Trueburger for a meal in Oakland.
When it came to food, dozens backed the recommendation that the NBA star check out Ike's for a legendary sandwich.
Robbie S offered a trio of outstanding burrito places in San Francisco – El Farolito, La Taqueria and Taqueria Guadalajara.
Being a music fan, KD was told he really needed to check out the famed Berkeley record stores -- Amoeba and Rasputin.
And he did.
