Drug Deal Gone Wrong Ends With Saw Attack On 2 Dogs In SJ Park
SAN JOSE (CBS/AP) -- Police say a man trying to buy drugs in a San Jose park attacked two dogs with a handsaw before being bitten by a pit bull mix and then beaten by a group of men who witnessed the attack.
The San Jose Mercury News reported the 55-year-old man, described as a transient, asked three men for marijuana in St. James Park.
When the men ignored him he hit one of the dogs with the saw. The other dog lunged and bit him.
Sgt. Jason Dwyer says one of the dogs had a small cut on the nose and the other dog suffered a three-inch gash on its head.
The man was hospitalized for bite wounds and a cut on his head after the incident Sunday.
The case was handed over to prosecutors for review.
