1 Killed In Big-Rig Crash On Highway 238 In Hayward; Traffic Snarled
HAYWARD (CBS SF) -- One person was killed in a crash involving two big rigs early Monday morning.
Emergency responders were working to free a driver who was trapped in a car underneath a big rig on state Highway 238 in Hayward Monday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Around 5:24 a.m., a sedan collided with two big rigs on Highway 238 just south of the Hesperian Boulevard off-ramp in Hayward, according to the CHP.

The crash pinned the sedan underneath one of the big rigs, and caused one of the big rigs to start leaking fuel, according to the CHP.
The right lane near the crash was blocked, and a left lane on-ramp to northbound interstate Highway 880 near the crash was shut down.
Alameda County Fire crews were working to extract the trapped driver from their vehicle as of 5:45 a.m.
All lanes of northbound 238 were reopened by 8:00 a.m.
