Driver Fleeing From Police Crashes Into San Ramon Home
SAN RAMON (CBS SF) -- A man who was wanted on burglary and theft charges crashed into a house in San Ramon early Wednesday morning while allegedly attempting to flee from police, San Ramon police Sgt. E. Webb said.
An officer on patrol saw the suspect, 24-year-old Joshua Scott, a transient, around 3 a.m. driving a car near the intersection of Davona Drive and Interlachen Avenue.
The officer recognized Scott and knew he had an outstanding $120,000 warrant for felony theft and burglary charges, Webb said.
The officer attempted to stop Scott, but he fled north on Davona Drive.
After about two miles, Scott allegedly clipped the corner of a house on Aptos Drive, got out of his vehicle and attempted to flee on foot, Webb said.
The officer quickly caught up to him and arrested him on suspicion of felony evading a peace officer, violating his parole, resisting arrest and on the warrant.
"He was the wrong guy to run from because he's fast," Webb said of the arresting officer.
Scott was taken to a hospital to be cleared and then booked into county jail in Martinez.
Nobody was hurt during the incident, and Webb said the damage to the house was minor.
