Driver Critically Hurt In San Francisco Hit-And-Run

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Police are searching for the driver of a truck who fled after critically injuring another motorist in a collision in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood early Wednesday morning.

The crash was reported about 1:40 a.m. at Third and Bryant streets.

The suspect's vehicle, a green truck, was found a few blocks away from the crash scene but no one was inside, police said.

The victim in the other car, a man in his 20s, suffered a head injury and cuts to his face, and was taken to a hospital, police said. His injuries are considered life-threatening.

The driver of the truck had not been found as of this morning. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Police Department's anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
