Dozens Displaced in 4-Alarm Mountain View Apartment Complex Fire
MOUNTAIN VIEW (CBS SF) — Dozens have been displaced resulting from a four-alarm fire at an apartment complex in Mountain View on Monday.
The fire was first reported at the Dana Garden Apartments on East Dana Street near Moorpark Way around 3:25 p.m.
A thick cloud of black smoke was seen from much of the South Bay before turning white as firefighters gained the upper hand early Monday evening.
Fire crews told CBS 5 that five units were completely destroyed, while five others suffered water damage.
There were no reported injuries to residents or firefighters and the cause of the blaze is not yet known.
At one point, frantic parents scrambled to a daycare within the unit, but it was reportedly not threatened.
