Downed Lines Knocks Out Power For Thousands Of Bay Area Homes
SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) -- Outages in Millbrae, Concord and Walnut Creek knocked out power to thousands of PG&E customers Sunday afternoon, a PG&E spokesman said.
More than 5,000 customers lost power about 2:20 p.m. in Millbrae after lines came down near 3 Kennedy Place, spokesman J.D. Guidi said.
Guidi said a damaged cross arm caused the power lines to come down. No injuries were reported, and the number of customers without power had been reduced to about 2,300 since the initial outage.
Another 730 customers lost power in Concord and Walnut Creek about 4:20 p.m., Guidi said. The cause of the outage is still under investigation.
Customers in Millbrae should have power restored at about 8 p.m., Guidi said. He couldn't say when power would be restored in Concord and Walnut Creek.
