Trump's Twitter Insults Catalogued By New York Times

(CBS SF) – Since declaring his candidacy, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has used his Twitter account thousands of times to insult his political opponents, the media and others, according to a New York Times analysis.

As of Monday, the newspaper found that he has attacked 281 people, places and things on the San Francisco-based social network.

A print version of the analysis shows Trump's insults spread out over two pages in Monday's edition.

Many of the Twitter attacks were against Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, with more than 80 insults posted on the candidate's account in the last 60 days alone, according to the Times analysis.

Trump's competitors in the Republican primary were not spared, particularly Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio.

One Bay Area official, San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo, was attacked by the candidate after a rally in June turned violent.

While candidates attack their rivals and media figures, the Times also noted that Trump has used his Twitter account to attack mixed martial arts fighter Ronda Rousey, actor Samuel L. Jackson's golf swing and the quality of service from T-Mobile.

As of Monday, the Republican nominee has 12.7 million Twitter followers.
