Affidavit Details Domestic Violence Allegation Against SF Sheriff-Elect
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS/AP) -- A police affidavit is shedding additional light on the domestic violence allegation against San Francisco sheriff-elect Ross Mirkarimi.
According to the affidavit, the neighbor who reported the alleged domestic violence told investigators she spoke to Mirkarimi's wife, Eliana Lopez, on New Year's Day.
Ivory Madison said Lopez told her that she sustained a bruise on her upper right arm when Mirkarimi grabbed her on New Year's Eve.
Madison also told police she videotaped the injury at Lopez's request.
The affidavit in support of a search warrant was first obtained by the San Francisco Examiner (http://bit.ly/wEqDs6) on Friday. Police have seized the video.
Lopez has denied the abuse charges.
The district attorney's office is reviewing the case but is not expected to make any decisions until next week at the earliest, after Mirkarimi is set to be sworn in as sheriff.
