Diamond Heights Traffic Stop Leads San Francisco Police To Indoor Pot Farm
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - San Francisco police officers who pulled over a Range Rover with no plates in Diamond Heights confiscated heroin and pot worth hundreds of thousands of dollars and uncovered a well-hidden marijuana farm in the driver's nearby home.
The officers seized $100,000 worth of heroin, a pound of marijuana and $11,000 in cash from a vehicle pulled over Tuesday at the corner of Portola and Burnett streets.
"Drugs were right there in plain sight," said Captain Greg Corrales.
KCBS' Holly Quan Reports:
A search warrant served on the home of the driver, 28-year-old Christopher Robinson, uncovered a growing operation with 100 pot plants inside his residence on Goldmine Drive.
Corrales said an open, empty safe with drug residue inside made it clear an accomplice had tried to remove as much drug evidence as possible from the apartment before police arrived.
"The marijuana grow, that was not feasible to try and get rid of that," Corrales said.
Officers also found psychedelic mushrooms in the apartment.
Corrales said the sheer quantity of drugs indicated Robinson was a high level drug dealer. Robinson had no prior criminal record.
