Detours, Street Closures Due To Nike Women's Marathon In San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- The Nike Women's Marathon will cause street closures and Muni route changes throughout San Francisco Sunday.
The race started at 6:30 a.m. at Union Square and traveled along the waterfront and through the Presidio and Golden Gate Park. It will finish around 4 p.m. at The Great Highway between Lincoln Way and JFK Drive, according to the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency.
The race was expected to cause multiple street closures throughout the city along the route, and drivers should consult a course map before traveling across the city.
Supervisor Eric Mar said Saturday that local residents who run into trouble gaining access to their homes or parking should call 311 immediately. In addition, they should take down the reference number 311 gives them and contact Nick Pagoulatos from his staff at (415) 554-7412 or nickolas.pagoulatos@sfgov.org.
