Deputies To Stand Trial For Beating Death Of Santa Clara County Jail Inmate
SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A San Jose judge has just ruled that three correctional deputies who worked at the same Santa Clara County Jail will stand trial for the murder of an inmate.
The three are accused of beating 31-year-old Michael Tyree to death.
They're also accused of assaulting another mentally-ill inmate who testified yesterday that he would have died, had he resisted.
The decision to go to trial comes the same day as as newly installed cameras, purchased at Costco by the Sheriff herself, capture a huge inmate brawl at the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
