Fate Of 'Shrimp Boy' Chow In Hands Of Jury
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS / AP) — The trial of a man charged with murder and racketeering in an organized crime investigation centered in San Francisco's Chinatown is headed to a jury.
U.S. District Court Judge Charles Breyer sent the case against Raymond "Shrimp Boy" Chow to jurors on Tuesday after closing arguments.
Prosecutors have said Chow took over a Chinese fraternal group with criminal ties after having its previous leader killed and ran an enterprise that engaged in drug trafficking, money laundering and the sale of stolen cigarettes and alcohol.
He also is charged with conspiring to kill another gang rival.
The defense maintains Chow is innocent and that the government failed to prove its case.
