THE DEFENSE:
Q: Hi Rebecca. This is one bright car. What can you tell us about this color?
A: It's white. They have a different one that I think is actually called pearly white and it's not this one. I think this one is glossy white like frosting.
Q: Good color, for sure. So what brings you here today?
A: School. I go to the University of San Francisco.
Q: What is your car's main use? Is it getting back and forth to school?
A: Driving everywhere because I live in a really remote area that's far from everything. There's no buses or anything. I have to drive everywhere: school, work, doctors appointments, everything. I've had to drive myself ever since I was 16, to everything.
Q: How did you get your car?
A: It was kind of a gift, but it's not 100 percent mine. My parents bought it as technically a family car, but we don't really use it that way most of the time. My dad takes it on day trips when he comes up to the city and he doesn't want to park his big truck. For the most part, it was just a gift, not really for anything specific. My mom wanted me to have a safe car.
Q: I noticed you have some custom floor mats that read, "Rebecca." Where did you get those?
A: My dad bought the car and told me it wasn't my car. Then for Christmas later that year, he bought me mats that had my name on it and said, OK, this still isn't your car, but here you go.
Q: What's your favorite day trip from home? Could you describe it a little?
A: My 17th birthday was a year after I got my car. Since I got my license on my 16th birthday, my year of probationary license was up when I was 17, so I could drive people around. I took a bunch of my friends, and my boyfriend at the time, and we went to the movies and stopped at the store. I was wearing a crown and that day, my best friend who couldn't be at my birthday, decorated my car and put balloons and my presents in it. When I woke up it was all decorated!
Q: If your car had a theme song, what would it be?
A: For a long time, one of my really good friends Kayla, we would go out at night or after school and she would always put on "I Gotta Feeling" by Black Eyed Peas and turn it up really loud because she was always hoping we would have a good night.
Q: If your car had a human emotion, what would it be and why?
A: Probably sexy because like I said to someone recently, I'm so sexy even my car is a turn on.
Q: Is there anything else we should know about your car?
A: It's amazing and I love it! It has pink fuzzy dice in it and it's cool because I can remote start it and open the back with my clicker. It has a sunroof and moon roof. I just love it. It's like a great place to hang out.
