Deadline Arrives To Claim Winning SF Lottery Ticket
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - A ticket purchased in San Francisco for the record March 30th MEGA Millions draw will become worthless Wednesday night unless the owner comes forward to claim the nearly quarter million dollar prize, according to lottery officials.
The ticket for the record $656 million draw matched five of the six winning numbers, missing only the mega number, earning a $227,955 payout, according to the California Lottery.
Though the jackpot was won out of state, 29 California tickets matched all the winning numbers. Since the draw 28 winners have come forward to claim their wins. Lottery tickets expire 180 days after the draw making Wednesday the deadline for the final winner to cash in with a postmarked claim or fill out paperwork in person by 5 p.m.
Lottery officials said the winning ticket was purchased at Fox Liquors on 570 Larkin Street in San Francisco and matched the numbers 46, 23, 38, 4 and 2 while missing the Mega number of 23.
