Darren Criss To Kick-off Summer Tour In San Francisco
(CBS NEWS) - Darren Criss wants his fans to "Listen Up" this summer. The "Glee" star announced on Tuesday that he'll be embarking on his first tour as a headlining act:
Criss already has experience performing on the concert stage. In 2011, he appeared in the "Glee Live! In Concert!" summer world tour along with his co-stars from the series. The 26-year-old Criss has played openly gay high school student Blaine Anderson on "Glee" since the show's second season.
In 2012, Criss made his Broadway debut as J. Pierrepont Finch in a revival of "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying."
On his YouTube account Tuesday, Criss revealed that he's also been busy in the studio:
"For those of you who haven't already picked up on the clues, I have been working on a collection of music for a solo album," Criss revealed.
Some of the new songs will be heard for the first time during his upcoming series of concerts.
The "Listen Up" summer tour kicks off May 29 in Criss' hometown of San Francisco at the Fillmore and concludes June 30 in Silver Spring, Md.
