Damaged Underground Cable Cuts Power To Thousands In Daly City
DALY CITY (CBS SF) -- PG&E crews were working at restoring power in Daly City after a damaged underground cable left nearly 6,800 customers without electricity Monday morning, a utility spokeswoman said.
The outage was reported about 12:20 a.m. in Daly City's Westlake neighborhood, west of Mission Street, spokeswoman Jana Morris said.
A downed wire was initially said to have caused the outage, but Morris said an underground cable was the actual cause of the disruption.
Around 2 a.m., power was restored to about 4,000 customers. Morris said that 1,526 remain without electricity as of 5:45 a.m.
The power for the remaining affected customers was expected to be restored by 9:30 a.m., Morris said.
