Daly, Weir, Duval Make Reno-Tahoe Open Commitments
LAKE TAHOE (CBS/AP) -- John Daly, Mike Weir and David Duval are among the early commitments to the PGA Tour's Reno-Tahoe Open at Montreux Golf & Country Club the first week of August.
Rich Beem and Shaun Micheel are among the other past winners of major tournaments in the field for the 15th annual tourney on the edge of the Sierra Nevada, Aug. 1-4.
Defending champion J.J. Henry also is on the list along with a pair of golfers with northern Nevada ties.
Rickey Barnes is married to former Wolf Pack volleyball player Suzanne Stonebarger and the couple is building a home at Martis Camp in Truckee.
Robert Garrigus also has committed. His wife grew up in the Portola area and his in-laws live in the Reno-Sparks area.
