Daily Madden: Which Cowboys Team Will The Raiders Play?
OAKLAND (KCBS) - Just four days after losing a tough game to the Titans, the Raiders meet the Cowboys in Dallas Thursday on KPIX 5.
"Going in to play any place (away from home) on a short week is tough," John Madden told the KCBS Radio morning crew. "It's a real advantage to be the home team and conversely a disadvantage to have to travel. But that doesn't mean you can't win."
Madden said both teams are inconsistent.
"There's one Cowboys team that if you catch them you can beat them. There's another way the Cowboys play that if you catch them the Raiders probably don't have much of a chance... In a game like that you have to keep it close, get them into the fourth quarter and try to get them then."
The Green Bay Packers are still without injured quarterback Aaron Rodgers as they get ready to face the Lions Thanksgiving Day.
"Aaron Rodgers is such a good quarterback, he makes that team," Madden said. "If Aaron Rodgers isn't there, the Green Bay Packers, to be honest with you, aren't very good."
John said the Packers still have a shot at the playoffs if Rodgers can get back on the field a week from Sunday.
The 7-4 49ers meet the 5-6 St. Louis Rams at Candlestick Sunday.
"The Rams are really playing well. That's not a walkover," Madden said. "It's going to be a very tough, physical game, and the 49ers need to be ready to play that kind of game." (7:05)
