Daily Madden: Tiger's Victory Is Good For Golf
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - Tiger Woods won the AT&T National by two strokes on the Congressional course in Bethesda Sunday.
"When Tiger's in it, it's more interesting," John Madden told the KCBS morning crew. "As you're flipping through and you see Tiger on a Sunday in a red shirt, it just kind of captures you."
With his third win this year and with two majors left to play, Tiger is in position to reclaim the number one ranking. "I don't know that he's really back," Madden said. "Sometimes age gets you... He may never get back to where he was. But on that road, he's pretty dog gone good."
It was a weekend of good news for some and disappointment for many others at the gymnastics, swimming and track and field Olympic trials.
"They're all so great," Madden said. "They work four years for that and then they get to these trials. I kind of feel for the ones that don't make it, I really do, because there's not a real big divide. You know, you're not saying 'oh this one is really great, they go, and this one doesn't deserve to go because the're not very good.' But they're all so dog gone good." (7:10)
