Daily Madden: The Warriors Shock The Nuggets And Many Fans
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - The Golden State Warriors weren't given much of a chance in their playoff series against the Denver Nuggets after losing David Lee to injury in the Game 1 loss.
"They lose David Lee, there's no way," John Madden told the KCBS Radio morning crew after Tuesday night's Warriors victory in Game 2. "I'm watching the game and thinking, as the Warriors are doing all this stuff and (Stephen) Curry is hitting all these threes and everything is going on, you think, 'well, it can't hold up. They're going to fall apart at the end and lose the game.'
And then they keep doing it, keep doing it, keep doing it. And the game's over and they win. I'm watching this, but what I'm watching can't really happen, it can't end this way. And then lo and behold."
The Warriors shot 65 percent from the floor, with 14 three-pointers.
"I'll tell you one thing about the outside shot, it can change the score quickly," Madden said. Game 3 is in Oakland Friday night. (8:30)
