Daily Madden: The QB's Role In Preventing Downfield Injuries
(KCBS) - John Madden is concerned about what he sees as a troubling trend: more NFL quarterbacks "throwing into a collision." Madden says in the past it was considered too dangerous for quarterbacks to pass into tight coverage that exposed a receiver to big hits by more than one defender. It's happening more frequently now, he says, and QBs and offensive coordinators should take more responsibility for helping keep downfield players safe.
Is the Wonderlic test that the NFL uses to measure player intelligence unfair? John thinks so, and never wanted teammates or coaches to know how a player scored so he wouldn't be pre-judged. (9:20)
