Daily Madden: The Non-Uniform Uniforms
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum sported a different look in his impressive outing against the Padres in San Diego Wednesday, wearing his pants high like teammates Barry Zito and Matt Cain.
John Madden told the KCBS morning crew that whether high or low, uniforms should be worn the same way by everyone playing a team sport.
"In individual sports you can do things like that," said Madden. "In a team sport everyone ought to look the same, wear the same uniform and wear it the same way."
Should you put your money on Tiger Woods or the field? John noted that's a question no longer asked as the Masters gets underway in Augusta.
"Those days are over... He's still a great golfer, but he's not (a) golfer that you would ever again think of taking over the field in the Masters," he said.
John also praised the 10-year-old Pennsylvania boy who purchased the Super Bowl ring of William "The Refrigerator" Perry and returned it to the former Chicago Bears lineman.
Perry, who suffers from Guillain-Barre syndrome, was most grateful. He wouldn't say how the ring ended up for sale. (9:00)
