Daily Madden: The Hope In The Raiders Loss
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - The Oakland Raiders surprised analysts with how well they played in their 21-17 loss to the Indianapolis Colts Sunday. "You know the Colts are good (with) Andrew Luck, and (the Raiders) had their work cut out for them," John Madden told the KCBS Radio morning crew.
"I thought that they really played well. They played well defensively. And (quarterback) Terrelle Pryor played great and kind of lifted the whole team," said Madden. "Someone wrote in the paper that the Raiders lost the game, but the area they won is having hope. And I agree with that."
The Colts had some difficulty shutting down the Raiders offense. "When you have a guy like Pryor that runs the ball, and he's faster than anyone you have in your defense, that is really a burden on you," Madden said, noting Pryor also had some success passing the ball. "He can do it, and I think it just has to be more work and more reps and getting some consistency, and probably consistency in his accuracy."
