Daily Madden: Seahawks Not So Invulnerable At Home
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- The Arizona Cardinals snapped the Seahawks' 14-game home winning streak, beating them in Seattle 17-10 Sunday.
"Usually you watch Seattle and especially at home they're very, very physical, all the way to borderline bullying," John Madden told the KCBS Radio morning crew.
"They kind of bully you when you go in there, and they have that crowd and that whole thing, and it's hard to be real aggressive against them. And that's what Arizona did.
I watched that game and that was the feeling that I got, that Arizona just went up there to get in a fight with them and physically whip them and they did... As you go into the playoffs, I think there was a feeling that if they're the number one seed, and you have to go through Seattle to continue in the playoffs, that's going to be the stopping point. And I think Arizona showed that doesn't necessarily have to be true."
Peyton Manning recaptured the NFL's season touchdown pass record by throwing his 51st in Denver's 37-13 victory over the Texans Sunday. "What Peyton Manning did was amazing," John said.
"Sometimes we get caught up in statistics and the numbers that he has, but the way that he plays the game is really amazing... He throws those passes, gets those touchdowns, does those things not because he's lucky but because he works harder than anyone else. And as we've always known usually that guy is the luckiest guy in the world." (7:35)
