Daily Madden: Rivera's Record Save
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - Mariano Rivera set major league baseball's career save record with his 602nd in the Yankees 6-4 win over the Minnesota Twins Monday.
"He's such a good guy, a gentleman," John Madden told the KCBS morning crew. "He represents New York, he represents the Yankees, he represents baseball. I don't anyone that ever routed against him."
Raiders coach Hue Jackson refused to blame the officials for the team's loss Sunday, and said theories of conspiracies by officials against the Raiders are nonsense.
"It is," Madden said. "When you lose you have to look at why you lost and you have to take the mistakes and you have to correct them. And if you use an excuse, sometimes that puts camouflage over the real reasons you lost... The officials didn't beat you." (8:10)
