Daily Madden: Rex Ryan Takes The Bait From Patriots Fans
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - New York Jets coach Rex Ryan was fined $75,000 for swearing at a fan during half-time of the Jets loss to New England November 13.
"He doesn't want to be a black eye on the league, and he shouldn't be," John Madden told the KCBS morning crew. "Fans are going to yell stuff at you when you're on the road and you just have to kind of put your head down and keep going. You can't have rabbit ears... You don't react to what fans say when you're going on and off the field."
In Monday Night Football, the Patriots struggled in the first half before putting away Kansas City 34-3.
"It's how you come out in the end," Madden said. "You have a script, or you have ideas, or you have what you call starters, and your starters work. And then sometimes your starters don't work. So you have to go to your adjustments... You could tell that the Patriots were getting a little frustrated early there, but they were the much better team and you could tell the outcome, even when they were struggling." (8:20)
