Daily Madden: Raiders Have A Win For The Taking
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - The Oakland Raiders are favored to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars in Oakland Sunday. "The one thing they can't be is overconfident," John Madden told the KCBS Radio morning crew. "You can't have a good loss on the road and get overconfident by it.
"Here's a win sitting right there. You see all these polls and who's best to worst, and Jacksonville is usually number 32. Sometimes the Raiders are number 31 in those polls. They're at home with a team that they should beat," said Madden. "But that's just on paper. They still have to go out and play that way... Here's one that they should win and doggone it, you have to go out and get it."
Madden said the Raiders are hoping quarterback Terrelle Pryor's ability to run will open up the inside for running back Darren McFadden. "That's what (Pryor) adds. He takes a lot of aggressiveness out of the defense because of his ability to run."
Madden said he's looking forward to the "Manning Bowl" Sunday when quarterback Eli Manning leads the New York Giants against the Denver Broncos, led by his brother Peyton. "Losing does bother them," Madden said. "They've competed all their lives and they're out their playing, and they're not really worried about each other... Eli is worried about the Denver defense and Peyton is worried about the Giants defense."
