Daily Madden: Peterson Carrying Vikings
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - The Vikings beat the Chicago Bears 21-14 in Minnesota Sunday, thanks to 154 yards rushing and two TDs by running back Adrian Peterson.
"You always think that a running back can really help in a win, but can't win it by himself," John Madden told the KCBS morning crew. "But if there is a guy who can that's in the NFL, a running back, it's Adrian Peterson."
Peterson is having an excellent season after undergoing ACL surgery last year.
"You know what the surgery is and what the rehab is... That's just amazing to come back that quickly and to play that great after it."
Madden said he thinks there will be a fifth championship fight between Juan Marquez and Manny Pacquiao, who was knocked out in the sixth round Saturday night.
"It was a great fight, it really was," he said. "I watched every one (of the previous fights) and every one of them went the distance because they were evenly matched...good boxers, good technique, good fundamentals. But they came out in a pace Saturday night that was totally different.... their pace was so furious in the first few rounds, I said they can't go on this way."
Why might Pacquiao fight again?
"They went to the cards after (the knockout) and Pacquiao was winning the fight." (8:45)
