Daily Madden: Olympics Achievements The Result Of Hard Work
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - Like many sports fans around the world, John Madden is enjoying the Olympics.
"I'm at the stage of 'how in the heck do they do that?'" Madden told the KCBS Radio morning crew. "Like on the skis where they're going downhill and they do a double flip and land. How do they do that for the first time?... To someone who's never been able to get up in the air that high anyway and do any kind of flip or double flip, anything like that is amazing."
Madden said behind every Olympics achievement is a struggle to be the best.
"Being in the Olympics is one thing, but the work and dedication that it's taken to get there, I'm always so impressed with. You know they just didn't just walk off the street and do something. You see someone like that they've been working at it probably since they were five, six, seven years old... This is their one moment, and you foul up that one moment and you foul up eight years, ten years of work." (6:50)
