Daily Madden: NFL Stadiums Struggle To Compete With TV
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - The NFL is putting cameras in locker rooms so fans in the stadium can watch players get ready for the game. "The biggest thing is fan experience," John Madden told the KCBS Radio morning crew.
"What's happening is they're losing fans at the stadium to television. And so now they have to make the fan experience better. But all they have to do is lower some of the doggone prices," said Madden.
"Lower the ticket prices, lower the concessions, lower the parking, lower some of that. They've just gotten out of range for a lot of people who would maybe go to games but can't afford it."
The men's NCAA semi-final between Syracuse and Michigan featured unusually bright uniforms. "Kids go for that," Madden said. "In college sports, everything is for recruiting. I think the uniforms you wear now are recruiting kids in high school.
"The choice of where they're going to go to school could very well be the uniform... I'll guarantee you that's a thought behind the uniforms they wear." Michigan faces Louisville in the championship game Monday night.
