Daily Madden: More NFL Pre-Game Talk On The Way
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- Former Raiders CEO Amy Trask has joined CBS Sports as an analyst on the network's new four hour NFL pre-game show.
She joins former NFL General Manager Bill Polian, now an ESPN analyst, as former team executives working as TV commentators.
"I think that those are always good moves when they get people that were in the game and understand it, and (Trask) is going to come from a different angle," John Madden told the KCBS Radio morning crew.
"There's a certain credibility there when (Polian) is talking about the game and the business of football and salary cap and stuff. He knew it, he worked it. And I think that's the same thing with Amy... It's going to be what goes on in contracts and how you have to work that and the business with the league and those things."
Madden pointed out that the expanded CBS NFL pre-game programming is just one of several long Sunday NFL talk shows.
"Once you commit to that then you need content, and when you get content you need a good mixture," John said. "I think she'll be part of a good mixture... She knows up to date what's going on in the league, what's going on with the rules, what's going on with the competition committee. She knows all those things first hand like Bill does." (6:40)
