Daily Madden: Maybe A Road Trip Will Be Good For The Raiders
OAKLAND (KCBS) - John Madden says the 0-2 Raiders have a shot against the 1-1 Patriots in New England Sunday.
"(They) play at home (last Sunday), first game at home, have the Raider Nation there, the crowd, the whole thing, and they laid a bomb," Madden told the KCBS Radio morning crew. "So maybe the opposite. Let's go back across the country again, play the Patriots and see if we can be better. I would hope that they are better than they were last week."
Madden said the Patriots are vulnerable.
"We think of the Patriots with Bill Belichick still there, a great coach, Tom Brady still there, a great quarterback... They have those things, but they don't have a lot of depth. They don't have the offensive line the way they used to, they don't have the dominant pass rushers. They're going to be tough and it's going to be tough to play against them. But not as tough as it was a few years ago." Win or lose, the Raiders need a better effort. "They just have to get some life in them," Madden said. "You just got to go out there and tackle and make it hard for the other team." (6:45)
