Daily Madden: Masters Drama, Giants Celebration
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - South African Charl Schwartzel survived a late charge by Tiger Woods to win the Masters in an exciting final round at Augusta National. John Madden told the KCBS morning crew Schwartzel is among a legion of young pros who have likely been playing for many years already.
"You know what's happening now, is (pros) start so young. A 26-year-old has probably been playing structured golf for 20 years," said Madden. "It used to be that they had 2 or 3 years experience (at that age)."
Meanwhile, Raiders great Jim Otto was among the Bay Area pro veterans participating in the Giants World Series ring ceremony Saturday night at AT&T Park, joining Steve Young representing the 49ers, Al Attles representing the Warriors and Reggie Jackson representing the A's. "Baseball does the best job of celebrating, and I think the Giants even lifted the bar a little bit on that one," said Madden.
