Daily Madden: Is There An NFL Roster Spot For T.O.?
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - The agent for former 49ers star receiver Terrell Owens says he's had discussions with NFL teams about Owens' return to the NFL.
"Discussions don't mean anything, as we know," John Madden told the KCBS Radio morning crew. "(But) I could see how his agent and clubs could have discussions about if something happens in training camp, you know, stay in shape, work out, and you're on our list. You always have a list of what's going to happen if you lose players... I would guess that discussions with T.O. would be in that category."
In other news, Twitter insults, common among some players, are now being traded on official MLB team Twitter feeds. It happened Tuesday night when Braves' pitcher Julio Teheran hit Washington's Bryce Harper with a pitch after Harper had homered in his previous at bat. Harper yelled at Teheran and pointed at him. 'Clown move, bro,' the Braves tweeted at Harper.
The Nationals tweeted back: 'Which part, giving up the home run, or drilling the 20-year-old on the first pitch his next time up?'
"The technology is ahead of the etiquette," Madden said. "It comes so quickly and stuff is so new and so different and so advanced all the time, that we don't have time to catch up with our rules for it. What is proper? How should it be used and how shouldn't it be used?... We're behind on Twitter, and it's just something that is going to take time, and it's going to take situations like this, examples like this, to say 'hey, this is wrong. We can't do this.' and then make rules and outlaw things like that."
