Daily Madden: Is It All Over For The Thunder?
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - The odds favor the Miami Heat in their NBA finals series against the Oklahoma Thunder. No team has ever come back from a 3-1 game deficit to win the championship.
"You can never say never," John Madden told the KCBS morning crew. "They're pros and they'll play it hard."
The Thunder had led the Heat by 17 points in the first quarter, before losing 104-98 Tuesday night.
"It's just playing at the end of the game," Madden said. "To get to that position I know you have to play hard during the whole game. But who's leading early doesn't mean anything. Who's leading at half-time doesn't mean anything. Who's leading after the third quarter doesn't mean anything. You just play the fourth quarter for the victory. That's where you have to be motivated. When you have to make the play at the end to win the game, you're going to be the guy, you're going to be the team that does it."
They play game five Thursday night in Miami.
