Daily Madden: Is Atlanta The NFL's Best?
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - The Atlanta Falcons edged the Dallas Cowboys 19-13 Sunday to stay undefeated at 8-0. The Falcons are the NFL's only unbeaten team.
"I respect what they do and they're kind of impressive," John Madden told the KCBS morning crew. "But I still have a hard time saying that they're the best team in the NFL. Now, if you say to me 'well if they're not then who is,' I don't know the answer to that one either."
Former Stanford QB Andrew Luck threw for 433 yards and two TDs to lead the Indianapolis Colts to a 23-20 victory over the Miami Dolphins.
"(Luck) always looked like he belonged," Madden said. "There wasn't one time that I watched him that he looked like a rookie. You know where you'd say 'this guy's a rookie quarterback in the NFL, that was a rookie mistake,' you know 'he'll mature into something different'... He looked like a six or seven year veteran from the start to me." (7:55)
