Daily Madden: Harbaugh Appears To Be Taking Madden's Advice
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh seems to be enjoying his time with reporters in New Orleans for the Super Bowl, a departure from the clipped remarks and defensive posture he usually exhibits in interviews.
"I think John's advice to him last week...to come in not celebrating and to come in not complaining, I think he took it to heart," KCBS Radio's Steve Bitker told the KCBS morning crew and John Madden, who talked to Harbaugh on the air last week.
"He's taking these media sessions maybe a little more to heart and a little more seriously than he normally does. He's on the big stage and he's been highly entertaining through the first two days."
Harbaugh joined the rest of the team at the stadium Tuesday for Media Day. 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick was wearing a large 49ers baseball cap with a flat brim.
"They don't put the curve on them anymore," Madden said. "That's the way everyone wears them, they just take them out of the box and throw them on." Harbaugh wore a curved brim cap.
"I think the curved brim is probably old school. I think new school is the flat," he said.
John also noted the sleeveless look on many of the players in uniform for Media Day.
"They have shortened sleeves right up under their shoulder pads... that's the look now in the NFL. Remember when they used to wear pads and stuff on their arms? No pads and stuff on their arms now. They want to show their guns." (9:10)
