Daily Madden: Boldin Is A Good Fit For The 49ers
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - The 49ers traded a sixth round draft choice to the Baltimore Ravens for three-time Pro Bowl receiver Anquan Boldin.
"I think that was a good pick-up. He's a good competitor," John Madden told the KCBS Radio morning crew. "He plays hard, a good blocker, tough guy. Not the greatest speed, you know, and he has a little age on him."
Boldin, 32, had six catches for 104 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens' Super Bowl victory over the 49ers.
"With the way the 49ers are, and Jim Harbaugh, and their whole thing about team, Anquan Boldin fits that very well. He would fit that a lot better than Percy Harvin would fit that, I think."
The divisional rival Seattle Seahawks picked up Harvin, also a star wide receiver, in a trade with the Minnesota Vikings.
"(Harvin) is a real good player, but he never seemed to be happy," Madden said. "There was always something with him, and I think (Minnesota) probably had to (trade him.)" (8:10)
