Daily Madden: And Then There Were Two
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - With Arizona's loss to the Rams Thursday night, the Houston Texans and Atlanta Falcons are the only unbeaten teams in the NFL. John Madden told the KCBS morning crew the Texans shouldn't have too much trouble with the New York Jets Monday night, but that Atlanta will be tested on Sunday by rookie Redskins quarterback RG III.
"I'm not saying it's going to be an upset, but I think that it could be," Madden said. "Some of the things (the Redskins) are doing are very, very tough to defend."
Madden said this weekend's best match-up will be Peyton Manning's Denver Broncos against Tom Brady's New England Patriots.
"It doesn't get any better than those two," said the former coach. "I think Peyton Manning is still in an adjustment period... He's going for perfection, and they're not perfect yet and he doesn't feel totally comfortable. So I would say if this game were a month from now, it would be a better game, and I think Denver would have a better chance. I think right now, playing on Sunday, I would think the Patriots would be the better team." (7:25)
