Daily Madden: A Glimmer Of Hope For Struggling Raiders
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - The 1-3 Raiders face the undefeated Falcons in Atlanta Sunday.
"It's a long shot," John Madden told the KCBS morning crew. "But if you watch Atlanta, they're good, but they're not a dominant team. Every time I watch them play, they come close to losing it seems. They don't go in there and take over a game and just whip you... Do the Raiders have a chance? I say a little chance... They're not going to go in there and just do it with their offense. Their defense has to get some turnovers, maybe score some points. Their special teams have to get good field position and maybe even score some points."
John said the winless Browns have a good shot to upset the Bengals in Cleveland.
"That's another one that looks very obvious that Cincinnati is real, real good, which they're not, and Cleveland is real, real bad, which they're not," Madden said. "Cleveland is a team that hasn't won a game, but they seem to play hard, they seem to be in every game. And I wouldn't be surprised if they win that one."
Can the 2-3 Packers bounce back with a win against the unbeaten Houston Texans Sunday night?
"The type of team that's going to give Houston trouble is a team that can score a lot of points," Madden said. "Who are those teams that can score a lot of points with the quarterback? Tom Brady obviously is one of them, Peyton Manning when he gets comfortable is one of them, and (Green Bay's) Aaron Rodgers is one of them... He's capable in any game of throwing four or five touchdown passes." (7:30)
